Advanced aerodynamics and gyrostabilization allow for exceptionally quality photo and video reconnaissance using 18 Mpx Electro and Optical 20x zoom camera one of the payloads available for the platform. UAV is designed in company’s custom “flying wing” manner with pushing propulsion system.
Electro/optic payload with advance fixing mechanism, up to 2.5 hours endurance, 3600 m operative ceiling, 40 km range, 1 kg payload, low observable to detect – all this features are ideal for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.
The aircraft has been in development for the last eight months confirming its abilities to function in a wide range of harsh environments and as all other ZALA AERO GROUP UAVs is adapted for a temperature range of -30⁰C...+50⁰.
The ZALA 421-16EM is of similar design to ZALA 421-16E launched in early 2011 however the main difference is that ZALA 421-16EM can be launched using an elastic catapult compared or conventional pneumatic catapult, has a two meter wing span for easier transportation and is more flexible to employ in operational theater as the UAS takes only 15 minutes to deploy.
