3DR recently announced that they have received another influx of funding, this one from Autodesk, the makers of AutoCad. The investment- of an undisclosed amount – is the latest step towards commercial drones for 3DR, giving them a commercial solution which will convert aerial images to a 3D mesh using the Autodesk 3D Mesh API. But all of 3DR’s efforts raising more funding, laying off workers, and shifting its product offering towards the commercial market may not be enough to win the pricing war, even in the commercial market.
